Each room can be booked on its own or combined, so the space fits your numbers rather than the other way around. Whether it’s a boardroom meeting for 12 or a cocktail event for 500, there’s a room to suit.
Kwenda & Mandich Meeting Room
Two connecting meeting rooms for board meetings, workshops and planning days. Boardroom style for up to 28, theatre style for 36, or open them up for cocktails for up to 100.
Tamar Room
Soft natural light and a flexible layout for seminars, training sessions and team lunches. Theatre style for 48, seated dining for 60 or cocktails for 100.
Karak Room
A versatile mid-sized room for conferences, product launches and networking events. Theatre style for 96, seated dining for 80 or cocktails for 200.
The Maali
Our largest space, made for major conferences, gala dinners and awards nights. Theatre style for 300, banquet for 180 or cocktails for up to 500 across the whole venue.
Habitat Café & Deck
An open-air deck for post-conference drinks, sundowners and relaxed dinners. Cocktails for 150 or seated for 65.
Perth Zoo Spaces
Private and semi-private lawns within the zoo grounds for corporate family days, picnics and after-hours cocktail events.

Just an 8-minute ferry ride from Elizabeth Quay, The Maali is an easy alternative to conference venues in the Perth CBD. Guests can arrive by ferry, bus, rideshare or taxi, and the Richardson Reserve Car Park sits directly across the road, with the first hour free and full-day parking available.

Every room comes equipped with built-in AV, climate control, and configurable layouts. If you need theatre style for up to 300 or a workshop setup for 30, the spaces adapt to the format. Our events team handles the setup so your team can focus on the day.
Complimentary Wi-Fi comes as standard, and our conference packages include a flip chart and whiteboard in every room. Add plenty of natural light and a view of the gardens, and the afternoon session feels a lot less like one.

Our full-day and half-day conference packages take care of the essentials: in-built AV, flip chart and whiteboard, tea, coffee and iced water, plus morning or afternoon tea and a working lunch. Upgraded lunch menus are available, and packages start from 15 guests.

The name Maali means ‘black swan’ in Noongar, a nod to the land the venue stands on and a big part of who we are.

All conference rooms include built-in projectors, screens, sound systems, and Wi-Fi. Additional equipment can be arranged on request. Full day and half day conference packages include AV as standard.
Do you offer catering for corporate events at The Maali?
Yes. Catering is provided by Restaurant Associates, the on-site team at Perth Zoo. Menus are built around seasonal, locally sourced produce with a strong sustainability focus, including ingredients from the WWF Future 50 Foods program and RSPCA certified chicken. Options range from working breakfasts and conference packages through to formal plated dinners and cocktail events.

How many guests can The Maali hold for a corporate event?
Our spaces suit groups from 12 up to 500. The Kwenda & Mandich Meeting Room seats up to 28 boardroom style, the Tamar Room takes 48 theatre style, the Karak Room takes 96 theatre style, and The Maali seats up to 300 theatre style or 180 for a banquet. For cocktail events, the whole venue holds up to 500, and larger events can be discussed on request.
Do you have smaller rooms for board meetings or workshops?
Yes. The Kwenda & Mandich Meeting Room is made up of two connecting rooms that can be used separately or together. It suits board meetings for 12 to 28, U-shape workshops for up to 30 and presentations for 36, all with built-in AV and natural light.
Can we host a gala dinner or awards night at The Maali?
Absolutely. The Maali room seats 180 for a banquet or 160 with a dance floor. Guests can start with pre-dinner drinks on the Habitat Café & Deck before moving inside.
Can we hold a corporate Christmas party at The Maali?

How do we get to The Maali from the Perth CBD?
The Maali is just an 8-minute ferry ride from Elizabeth Quay to Mends Street Jetty, or a short drive over the Narrows Bridge. Bus, rideshare and taxi are all easy options, and there's an accessible drop-off point right by our private roadside entrance at 16 Labouchere Road, South Perth.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes. The Richardson Reserve Car Park is directly across the road, with the first hour free and full-day parking (8am to 6pm) from $9.50. Paid parking is also available at the Perth Zoo car park, and there's free, time-limited street parking nearby.
Can we bring our own catering or alcohol?
No. Restaurant Associates Venues is the exclusive on-site caterer at Perth Zoo, so external food and alcohol can't be brought in. The upside is one team looking after everything, from working breakfasts through to canapés and beverage packages.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. Our menus include vegetarian, vegan and low gluten options, and our catering team is happy to look after allergies and other requirements. Just let us know your guests' needs when you confirm final numbers.
Is there accommodation near The Maali for interstate guests?
Yes. Several hotels and serviced apartments are within walking distance, including Quest South Perth Foreshore and The Peninsula Riverside Serviced Apartments, making The Maali an easy choice for conferences with delegates travelling in.
